Project 4: Portraiture

Project 3: Flaneur Street Photography

Flaneur is a french word that describes someone who wanders, explores urban areas, and is a connoisseur of the street. These are photos that I took in Boston while I was thinking about what it means to be a "Flaneur".

BFA Exhibition Response on Andy Upton

The BFA students all had great work. I enjoyed taking my time looking at the photography pieces. Andy's photos were interesting. His photos had a sense of peace to them and a quietness that particularly spoke to me. Although to me, His photos felt somewhat generic. Looking at Andy's work reminded me of many photos I've seen before and even photos Ive taken myself. I found myself wishing there was something else in the photos that would set them apart and make them feel more unique. In the future I would like to see more of his work. He did a great job with his statement. I thought his statement was the most articulate out of all the other artists, and that made for a much stronger body of work.

Class Portrait Amalgamation

Last week we all took a photo of each student in the class. Today, we took those photos and created an Amalgamation in Photoshop. This is what my entire class looks like morphed together!
