In color theory there are three different categories: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary
Primary colors are Red, Blue and Yellow. All other colors in the rainbow can be obtained by mixing these colors.
Secondary colors are the result of mixing two primary colors together. For example, Orange is a secondary color because it's the mixture of Red and Yellow.
Tertiary colors are a mixture of 50% primary color and 50% secondary color. The primary and secondary color must be adjacent on the color wheel.
